Terms of Service & License Agreement

1. Who these terms are with

These terms are between you and [Company legal name], [registered company number], [registered address, Sweden] ("we", "us"). By downloading, activating, or purchasing TheFile.Ninja you agree to them.

2. License grant

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use TheFile.Ninja according to the tier you obtain:

  • Core (free) — a permanent free license for the core file manager, usable on up to 3 of your personal machines. New installs start with a 30-day trial of all Pro features; after it ends, Core continues free.
  • Pro — a paid personal license including 1 year of app updates, on unlimited personal machines. You keep using the version you have; renew for continued updates.
  • Lifetime — a paid personal license including all future updates, on unlimited personal machines.

"Personal machines" means computers you own or primarily use. The license is for your own use; you may not resell, sublicense, or share license keys.

3. Acceptable use

You may not reverse engineer, circumvent licensing, or use the software for anything unlawful. We may revoke a license that is shared, abused, or obtained fraudulently.

4. Price, payment & VAT

Prices are shown in USD and processed by Stripe. Where applicable, value-added tax (VAT) may be added at checkout based on your location. [Confirm your VAT/OSS handling here.] Your receipt is available from your account.

5. Refunds & EU right of withdrawal

We offer a [30-day money-back guarantee]: if the software does not work for you, contact [support@thefile.ninja] within that period for a refund.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance purchase. Because a license is digital content delivered immediately, you are asked to consent to immediate delivery at checkout and acknowledge that the 14-day withdrawal right is thereby waived once delivery has begun. Our voluntary money-back guarantee above still applies.

6. Updates

Pro includes one year of app updates from purchase; afterwards the app keeps working on the version you have, and you may renew for continued updates. Lifetime includes all future updates.

7. Warranty disclaimer

The software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be error-free or uninterrupted. Nothing here limits any non-waivable statutory consumer rights you have.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the software or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your license in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for data loss — please keep your own backups.

9. Termination

These terms apply for as long as you use the software. If you materially breach them, your license may be revoked. Sections that by nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers, limitation of liability) continue after termination.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of [venue, Sweden].
